Bread Empire’s Buddha Bread – Review & Giveaway

We are living in an exciting time. We’ve all heard the gluten-free-bread/cardboard comparison. Once upon a time that may have been true, but we are now experiencing a new era where Celiacs and gluten free folk can fall in love with bread again. About two months ago I experienced all of the feels – I couldn’t stop smiling and was giddy at the thought of seeing my new love again – that love was Bread Empire’s Buddha Bread.

Wonderfully warm and fluffy with a buttery flavor, you will not find another gluten free bread like it. They are little rolls from heaven. The secret? Flour made from the cassava root combined with pure skim milk cheese.

Buddha Bread was inspired by a trip to the Colombian countryside where fresh breads are available everywhere you turn. It was in the city of Cali where the founders (a lovely gluten free husband and wife team) tasted a bread with a crispy exterior and a warm, fluffy center. They knew they had something special and worked tirelessly to create their own gluten free and improved-upon version. The result – Buddha Bread.

Bread Empire made their online debut in 2013 and launched in stores last year. The rolls are made in a dedicated gluten-free and nut-free facility and are sent to you as frozen dough. When you are ready to eat, place your frozen rolls directly in the oven for 15-20 minutes, and voila! Freshly baked rolls! It couldn’t get much simpler than that. This makes Buddha Bread your perfect choice for holiday dinners. No fuss, and it’s guaranteed to be one of the tastiest dishes on your table.

  1. I would love to win these because it’s been SO long since I’ve had a really great gluten-free roll. I’m hungry just looking at the pictures.

  3. To be honest, I would get my Buddha Bread as a leftover. I work from 12 to 9 PM six days a week, so my husband would make them to be eaten with soup for our kids, and then I would get the leftovers the next day for breakfast.

  4. This sounds like a very intriguing product, kind of like Chebe. I’m sure my husband would love the jalapeno, and the olive & rosemary sounds delightful to me. Thank you for introducing us to this product!

  5. This sounds a bit like pao de queijo, the Brazilian cheese bread. I love those and I bet I’d love these too – they’d be great as a side dish for just about any dinner.
