Banza Pasta Review & Giveaway

Sure, I like pasta, but I prefer to have protein as the main component of my meal, along with vegetables. As a fitness instructor who is constantly on the go, I’m always looking for creative ways to get more protein, especially after hard workouts. That’s where Banza comes in. Banza makes a wonderful gluten free pasta that is high in protein and fiber, and guess what – it’s made from chickpeas!

I hear your questions already – “What’s the texture like? Does it taste like chickpeas?” No, it tastes like pasta. As one would expect, because of its unique ingredients Banza does have a slightly different texture than wheat-based noodles, but I don’t mind. I would so much rather have the protein than junky carbs.

Fast facts:

  • Certified gluten free
  • Rotini, elbows, penne and shells are produced in a dedicated gluten free facility
  • Free of the top 8 allergens
  • Produced in a nut-free facility
  • Kosher
  • Made from over 90% chickpeas
  • High in protein – 14g in a 2 oz serving! (25g protein for a more generous 3.5 oz serving)

I am thrilled with this pasta and especially love how allergen friendly it is. I’ve paired it with my homemade pasta sauce as well as pesto and parmesan cheese. Any way you do it, Banza is a delicious, nutritious, allergen-friendly option that will give you a boost of protein.

Banza is available in stores across the US as well as online. For more information and a store locator visit www.eatbanza.com

  1. I want to win because my four year old is super-picky about pasta, but loves chickpeas (go figure) so I would like to see of she would eat the Banza made from chickpeas. The rest of the family would like to have some pasta every now and then!

  3. I want to win this to try Banza risk free! I really want to try their mac and cheese, and I have been eyeing Banza on Amazon for a while, the reviews are quite mixed. you can’t purchase just one, you have to get a 6 pack, and I have been burnt so many times with disappointing GF foods that I have not wanted to take another risk.

  4. We tried this last week and loved it! It was guilt free pasta! We had found it at a local Target store after using a find feature on the Banza site and it languished in our pantry for a while. Now that we’ve tried it, we’ll be buying it again. We need to experiment with sauces.

  5. I feel like I’m ALWAYS looking for the perfect gluten free pasta, and I never find it…. It’s always a waste of space in my stomach since I haven’t found a great nutritional pasta. This sounds wonderful! I actually picked this pasta up and put it in my cart earlier this week at Sprouts, but then decided I didn’t want to spend money on another thing I didn’t know would be good or not. Sounds like I should pick it up next time!

  6. I have a gluten sensitivity, not intolerance or celiac, but I’ll get rush all over my body after I consume gluten containing foods when I feel tired, so I try my best to avoid gluten. So I’m always looking for new gluten free foods and also protein rich foods since I do some weight training to maintain my healthy body. I’ve never tried Banza Chickpea pasta before and I’d love to try this. This is a perfect opportunity for me. Thank you so much for the chance!

    • I’m curious, have you been tested for Celiac? That sounds like Dermatitis Herpetiformis, a skin reaction to gluten. Celiac.org says “DH affects 10-15% of people with celiac disease. DH patients frequently have no digestive symptoms.” Might be worth looking into?
In any case, I’m glad to introduce you to this pasta! Best of luck in the giveaway 🙂

  7. We’ve recently learned our daughter is allergic to gluten, so we’ve been trying out different noodles. She loves spaghetti like any other almost 4 year old and so far the noodles are alright but we haven’t found her favorite yet

    • Technically there is no gluten allergy. There is Celiac Disease, wheat allergy, and gluten intolerance. Does she have one of those? I hope you don’t mind me asking. Anyway, 4 year olds seem to be bigger food critics than adults 🙂 Maybe she’ll like this one!

  8. I’d love to win this because I just started eating much healthier and exercising more after baby #3 and this would keep me on the right track. My kids would love it too and I love setting a good example for them with my diet

  9. I’ve seen this stuff in the store and always wanted to try it! I have tried black bean pasta and liked it so this should be pretty delicious!

    • Black bean pasta is great. I’ve found that it has a very specific taste that doesn’t go well with all sauces. Banza/chickpea pasta doesn’t have a drastic difference from regular pasta, so you can really flavor it up 🙂
