Amrita Bars Review & Giveaway

Amrita bars have been a favorite go-to snack of mine for several months, and the more I learn about the company the more I love them.

The idea for the company stemmed from the nutritional needs of the founder’s son who has autism. As many new finding suggest, diet is a key to helping children and adults cope with autism. Arshad (Amrita’s founder) realized that his son’s behavior changed for the better while following a gluten free and dairy free diet. Arshad, himself, found that following an allergen free, plant based diet helped to reduce his inflammation and cholesterol, as well as helped him to lose weight. He became inspired to create a new allergen friendly product – a grab and go type snack that is suitable for many individuals. One that is rich in antioxidants, vitamin, minerals, omega-3s, fiber, and easily digestible protein. Amrita was born in 2012 and has been steadily growing ever since.

A quick look at the Amrita bars:

  • 100% non GMO certified

While many other bars are made with whey or soy protein (which can sometimes irritate the stomach and cause bloating), Amrita bars are made with brown rice protein. Also, (other than that brown rice protein) these bars are grain free. With ingredients like organic date paste, sunflower seed butter, tahini, organic chia seeds, shredded unsweetened coconut, and Himalayan pink salt it is easy to see how these bars make clean eating delicious.

Amrita bars come in six tasty flavors:

  • Apple Cinnamon
  • Apricot Strawberry
  • Chocolate Maca
  • Cranberry Raisin
  • Mango Coconut
  • Pineapple Chia

Every time I think I have picked a favorite it changes with my next bite. I think Mango Coconut and Pineapple Chia have my votes. And Chocolate Maca.

With their high nutritional content and low glycemic load, Amrita suggests that their products may be an exceptionally great fit for athletes, pregnant woman (note: always consult your doctor regarding nutrition), kids, and active families. But you don’t have to be an athlete, mother, or child to love these bars. Good nutrition is important for everyone.

You can find Amrita bars online, at Whole Foods, and select stores. For more information visit
